Liapor
Light ceramic aggregate
DESCRIPTION:
Liapor is light weight ceramic aggregate manufactured by firing and expanding of natural granulated clays, thus forming sintered ceramic pearls with inner porous structure which have excellent physico-chemical and mechanical properties. Because this product is mainly used in concretes, mortars and back fills, it is denoted as light porous aggregate from expanded clays.
PROPERTIES:
As to Liapor production, clay contains minerals such illit, kaolinit, silicon, then mica fractions and fossil remains. Fossil remains and specific mineral mixtures work during the expandation. Properties of Liapor are of pure ceramic material. Liapor is:
- light (from 275 kg/m3)
- solid (0,7-12 MPa)
- heat insulating (λ from 0,09 W.m-1K-1)
- heat resistant (to 1150°C)
- freeze resistant
- chemically stable
- ecological
BENEFITS:
- material of natural origin
- environmentally and healthy harmless
- no side effects
USE:
- in constructions as well as a base of building system
- backfills of ceiling and floor construction
- backfills of ground and bridge constructions
- heat insulting backfills
- discharged supporting base
- porous light concretes
- dense light concretes
- light mortars
EXAMPLES OF APPLICATION:
- constructional or constructional-insulating
- drainage
- geo-technical
- filtering
- silvicultural
- decorative
- absorptive

PACKING AND STORING:
For Liapor fills, Liapor is packed to bags about 50 l (weight of about 14-25 kg, according to the particular fraction). For supplies of large quantities, it would be suitable to use packing in big-bags of 1000 l, eventually in bulk loaded in silo trucks.
